Broadway Licensing Group, the parent company of licensing imprints Dramatists Play Service, Playscripts, and Stage Rights, has added three new works to its catalogue. One of them is Sandy Rustin's The Cottage, currently making its Broadway debut at the Hayes Theater through October 29.

Inspired by the works of Noël Coward, The Cottage is set in the English countryside in 1923 as Sylvia decides to come clean with her affair to both her husband and to her lover’s wife. Like Rustin's earlier plays also handled by BLG (Clue: On Stage and The Suffragette's Murder), the work will join BLG's Dramatists Play Service.

"Sandy Rustin is one of the most promising playwrights in the United States, and seeing The Cottage succeed on Broadway is a clear example of her continued ascent," says BLG Founder and CEO Sean Cercone. "We are proud to have been an early supporter of her work and career, and even more excited to continue to champion her new works in the live theatre marketplace."

Also joining the BLG family is Rajiv Joseph's King James, which recently played Off-Broadway via Manhattan Theatre Club following runs at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre and Los Angeles' Center Theatre Group. The play tracks the friendship between Shawn and Matt, whose fortunes are tied to those of their idol, Cleveland basketball star "King" LeBron James. The work is currently available for licensing via the Dramatists Play Service imprint.

And BLG has also acquired Erica Schmidt's Lucy, a dark comedy about a single mom  whose seemingly perfect nanny sets off a chain of events that sends reality unraveling. Audible Theater presented the work's world premiere Off-Broadway at the Minetta Lane Theatre earlier this year. Lucy is also currently available for licensing via Dramatists Play Service.
