Details have been revealed for the 2023 Tony Awards. This year's ceremony will be held June 11, 2023, at a new venue. For the first time in the awards' history, the 76th Annual Tony Awards will be hosted by the United Palace in New York City's Washington Heights.
Productions that open by April 27, 2023, will be eligible for this year's awards, and nominations will be announced May 2.
The theatre, originally called the Loew's 175th Street Theatre when it opened in 1930, is a favorite of three-time Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, who grew up nearby. After not screening movies for more than 40 years, a Miranda-supported 2013 fundraising campaign revitalized the theatre for movie screenings and events. The venue is Manhattan's fourth largest theatre, and now frequently hosts concerts, movie premieres, film shoots, and other events, along with supporting the neighborhood by showcasing work from local artists and housing Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance.

As we celebrate the best of this Broadway season and 76 years of the Tony Awards, we look forward to ushering in a new golden age for the show from this majestic, golden age theatre," say American Theatre Wing President and CEO Heather Hitchens and Broadway League President Charlotte St. Martin in a joint statement.
The 2023 Tony Awards will broadcast live on CBS and stream live (for premium-level subscribers) and on demand (for all subscribers beginning June 12) via Paramount+. Details on an accompanying special honoring the 2022-23 Broadway season will be announced in the coming months.
The Tony Awards, founded by the American Theatre Wing in 1947, are co-presented by the Wing and The Broadway League, along with White Cherry Entertainment. Carnegie Mellon University, City National Bank, Playbill, Sofitel New York, and United Airlines are sponsors.
Back to executive produce the ceremony for White Cherry are Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss, with Weiss also again serving as director.
