The project encourages both individuals and organizations to sponsor tickets for veterans to see Bandstand by making a tax-deductible donation through Got Your 6, a non-profit that highlights projects that accurately portray narratives about military personnel and their families. Bandstand is the first Broadway production to be 6 Certified by Got Your 6.
TV personality Diana Falzone will kick off the project May 24, leading a talkback following the 8 PM performance, where the first participants of the program will be in attendance. Bandstand cast members will also perform at The Intrepid May 28 at noon as part of Fleet Week.

The musical, directed and choreographed by Hamilton Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler, uses an original swing score by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker to tell the story of Donny Novitski (Cott), who assembles a band of fellow WWII veterans to enter a national radio contest searching for the next big band sensation. Along the way, he teams up with Julia (Osnes), a young war widow who becomes the group’s lead singer.
