Two-time Tony nominee Carmen Cusack (Flying Over Sunset, Bright Star) will release her debut solo album Lay Your Hands On Me April 25.
The album, which marks Cusack's public debut as a singer-songwriter, is a revival rock and pop blues-tinged eight-track piece, exploring Cusack's relationship to her childhood, and her journey from the deep south to Broadway.
Born to a teenage parents in a small town outside of Denver, Cusack's childhood was spent moving between different guardians and multiple small towns where she soon found herself thrust into the role of second mother for her three younger sisters. Religion, steep expectations, and a lack of emotional support swirled, setting the stage for Lay Your Hands On Me.
The album, recorded inside an old church in collaboration with Joe Jung, will feature the following eight tracks.
- Show Me a Man
- Shane
- Did the Best I Could
- Rebellious Child
- When This Is Over
- Happy
- I’ll Never Get Over You
- Sorry
Lay Your Hands On Me will be released on both physical and digital platforms April 25. The album can be preordered through iTunes now.
