SHORT NORTH STAGE
ABOUT US: Short North Stage is a professional non-profit regional theater company located in the heart of the Short North Arts District in Columbus, Ohio. As an SPT Tier 6 Equity theater we produce 7 musicals and occasional special performances in our season. We love to feature exciting new takes on classics, edgy and provocative new works, and stories that will truly resonate with our audiences. Our mission to feature creative teams, onstage talent, and offstage talent with diverse, unique voices remains strong as we continuously look for qualified applicants.

SEEKING:

VAL (age 25-30): Female presenting

Sexy, sassy, suggestive, and funny. A brazen, direct, attention-seeker from Vermont. Covers Cassie.


MIKE (age 20-28): male presenting

Determined, sure of himself…a sexy and likable flirt. Ideally strong Tap & Acrobatic skills


MAGGIE (age 18-25). Female presenting

A sweetheart, little sister type. Dreamer. Sings up to an E natural in “At the Ballet.”


DON (age 25-35): Male presenting.

All-American ladies’ man, married, and into cars, money, and women.

SEEKING:

JANET VAN DE GRAAFF: (30s) Star of Feldzieg’s Follies who is conflicted about giving up her life on the stage to marry Robert Martin. Attractive, vivacious, outgoing personality. She loves being the center of attention and is the consummate 1920s starlet. Strong movement and special skills (acrobatics, juggling, etc.) a plus. Vocal range: Alto with big belt (G3-E5)


ROBERT MARTIN: (30-40) The groom-to-be who is deeply in love with Janet. He is the token 1920s leading man – debonair, dashing, and a matinee idol. He is cheesy, cheerful, and optimistic. Must be able to tap dance and roller skate.Vocal range: Tenor (C3 – Ab4)
