DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a visionary and dedicated Artistic Director to join our dynamic team and guide the creative direction of our theatre. This role is ideal for a passionate leader ready to make a meaningful impact within a welcoming and supportive artistic community.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $58,000-$65,000


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures high-quality programming that aligns with the spirit of QCT’s mission, vision, and values
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates programming each season, working to meet artistic and operational goals
  • Introduces innovative and non-traditional theatre experiences to attract new audiences and deepen community connections
  • Maintains positive and professional working relationships with guest artists, volunteers, cast and crew members, donors, and patrons
  • Hires, supervises, and evaluates artistic and technical personnel
  • Works closely with Executive Director to develop annual program budgets and production calendars
  • Acts as a spokesperson for QCT’s artistic purpose via speaking engagements, public and social appearances
  • Fosters meaningful connections with underrepresented communities to expand QCT’s reach and impact
  • Partners with the leadership team to align artistic goals with financial and organizational strategies to ensure QCT’s long-term health and success
  • Works closely with volunteers to create a collaborative and inclusive environment that values their contributions
  • Takes the lead on season selection, working with QCT staff to ensure QCT offers a wide variety of programming in line with artistic vision, organization mission, vision, and values, as well as QCT’s budgetary and operational needs
  • Directs a minimum of two shows per season
  • Has ultimate oversight over all shows, and the duty to make corrections when a show is not representative of QCT’s mission, vision, and/or values
  • Works closely with Director of Education to incorporate educational elements into all programming


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Artistic Director or in a leadership role within a theatrical organization
  • Strong directing and programming skills with a passion for storytelling and innovation
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team of staff, volunteers, and artists
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive artistic community
  • A degree in theatre, performing arts, or a related field preferred
