Stephen Sondheim

New York Public Library for the Performing Arts hosts lyricist Amanda Green (Mr. Saturday Night), composer Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years), and composer Tom Kitt (Almost Famous) for Sondheim: The Man, The Mentor, and His Music October 17 at noon.

The talk, being held in the library's Bruno Walter Auditorium, focuses on Sondheim's works, the craft behind them, and how he mentored the following generation of theatrical composers. It is presented in collaboration with Dramatists Guild.

The event is presented concurrently with The Dramatist magazine's special Sondheim issue, guest edited by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton).

Registration for Sondheim: The Man, The Mentor, and His Music opened first to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students studying playwriting, musical theatre writing, and musical composition, and have since been made available to the general public.
