Ciara Renée, most recently seen on Broadway as Jenna in the revival of Waitress, makes her New York directorial debut helming industry readings and a public concert of Millennials Are Killing Musicals March 31 at 11 AM and 2 PM. The presentations will be held at Open Jar Studios, with a Feinstein's/54 Below concert following April 4 at 9:30 PM.

Millennials Are Killing Musicals, about the Millennial existential crisis, motherhood, and stereotypes that define a generation, follows Brenda, a quirky, stressed-out single mom who hates her job, longs to be a writer, and can’t help but compare herself to the seemingly perfect “Jake’s Mom” at school. The work is written by Drama League songwriting contest and NAMT Challenge winner Nico Juber.
The creative team also includes music supervisor and arranger Ted Arthur and music director Jane Cardona. General management is by Evan Bernardin Productions with casting by Michael Cassara; the production stage manager is Rachel A. Zucker.
