Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) will make its London premiere this fall at the Kiln Theatre. Performances are scheduled for November 9-December 23 with an official opening November 16.
Directed by Tim Jackson, the cast will feature Dujonna Gift (Hamilton) as Robin and Olivier winner Sam Tutty (Dear Evan Hansen) as Dougal.
Written by Jim Barne and Kit Buchan, Two Strangers follows naïve but upbeat Brit Dougal, who is flying to New York for the wedding of his estranged father. Waiting for him at the airport is Robin, a native New Yorker who is the sister of the bride.
The upcoming production will also have designs by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jack Knowles, sound design by Tony Gayle, musical direction by Sean Green, orchestrations by Lux Pyramid, casting by Julia Horan, voice and dialect coaching by Daniele Lydon, associate direction by Claira Vaughan, and assistant direction by Jessica Mensah.
An earlier version of the musical was produced by Royal & Derngate, Northampton and New Wolsey Ipswich called The Season.
