Amas Musical Theatre, the Manhattan-based non-profit theatre organization that is devoted to the development of new American musicals and champions diversity in the theatre industry, held its 50th anniversary benefit gala on Monday, April 1. The gala's honorees included performer and activist Harry Belafonte, music manager Sheller Berger, author and playwright Sharleen Cooper Cohen, and Amas Artistic Producer Donna Trinkoff.
The evening, hosted by Tony winner Lillias White, also saw a scholarship in the name of Amas founder Rosetta LeNoire presented to Emily Lang, a student of the Amas Teen Academy.
