The Rocky Horror Picture Show comes to Fox October 20. Laverne Cox, star of the upcoming broadcast, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about the project and her impending television series, Doubt.
Rocky Horror is a made-for-TV musical based on the 1975 film and the stage production of the same name. “What’s so wonderful about our version is that we have a bigger budget than they did 40 years ago so we get to really realize Richard O’Brien’s vision of this tribute to ’50s rock ‘n’ roll and B-horror,” said Cox. “It is opulent and fantastic and had the time of my life doing it.”

Cox plays Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the role originated in the movie by Tim Curry, who joins this remake as the Narrator.
The singing actor also talked about her current television series, Doubt, which also stars theatre actor Steven Pasquale and Katherine Heigl. Cox has moved to Los Angeles to shoot the series, and on her first day of shooting she worked with Tony winner Judith Light. (Light made her schedule work to film a full day for the show the Monday after the Emmys before returning to New York for the continuation of the run of her one-woman show All the Ways to Say I Love You.)
