Christin Eve Cato's Sancocho has been extended a final time through April 23. This marks the Off-Broadway premiere's second one-week extension since it began previews March 11 and opened March 23 at WP Theater.

Zuleyma Guevara (Bruise & Thorn, Gotham) and Shirley Rumierk (Good Person, Manifest) star as Puerto Rican sisters Renata and Caridad. As tension between the two flares, the pair are forced to face their father's declining health and the things that divide them: cultural clashes, old wounds, and long-kept secrets.

Rebecca Martinez (Miss You Like Hell) directs the production, which features scenic design by Raul Abrego (Ain't Misbehavin'), costume design by Harry Nadal (Miss You Like Hell), lighting design by Maria-Cristina Fusté (Jagged Little Pill), sound design by Germán Martinez (Into the Woods), and production stage management by E Sara Barnes (Jersey Boys). Casting is by Kelly Gillespie.

Sancocho features an all-Latiné cast and design team.

The work was originally developed at Latinx Playwrights Circle, and was subsequently produced by Vision Latino Theatre Company in October 2022 as part of Chicago International Latino Theater Festival Destinos. It is produced by Latinx Playwrights Circle, WP Theater, and The Sol Project.
