Off-Broadway News Off-Broadway's Circle Jerk Sets Hosts for Special Pride Performances

SIX creators and 2022 Tony winners Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow hosted the in-person and streaming hybrid production's first Pride event.

Philip Picardi, Brontez Purnell, Brandon Flynn, and A’ziah ‘Zola’ King have been announced as late-night special guests for Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley’s Circle Jerk in honor of Pride. A previous special performance was hosted by SIX creators and 2022 Tony winners Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow. The show, simultaneously performed live and live-streamed, opened June 14 at The Connelly Theater June 14 and is set to conclude June 25.

Former OUT editor Picardi and performer Purnell will host the June 17 performance at 10:30 PM; and Flynn (Netflix's 13 Reasons Why) and writer and producer King will host the June 18 performance at 10:30 PM. Additional Pride performances are set for June 24 at 10:30pm and June 25 at 3pm.

Set in wintertime on Gaymen Island, a summer retreat for the homosexual rich and famous, Circle Jerk follows two white gay internet trolls who scheme to take what they want in a chaotic mix of flip flops as three actors play nine roles.

Cat Rodríguez joins Breslin and Foley in the cast, and Rory Pelsue directs with Ariel Sibert as the dramaturg.

The creative team for Circle Jerk includes video and co-lighting designer David Bengali, co-lighting designer and video associate Ted Boyce-Smith, scenic and props designer Stephanie Osin Cohen, sound designer Kathy Ruvuna, costume designer Cole McCarty, wig and make-up designer Tommy Kurzman, and stage manager Codey Leroy Butler.
