Simon Reade's new adaptation of Christopher Isherwood's A Single Man opens October 21 at Park200 at London's Park Theatre October 19. Presented by Troupe in association with Park Theatre, previews for the world premiere began October 19 for a run through November 26.
Set in 1962 California, A Single Man follows George through a single ordinary day. George, a gay Englishman living in the suburbs of Los Angeles, has recently lost his long-term partner and struggles to move on in this work about grief, love, and loneliness.
Starring are Theo Fraser Steele (Don Quixote, The Crown) as George, Rachel Pickup (Bedroom Farce, Madam Secretary) as Charley, Freddie Gaminara (Light Falls, Red Joan) as Male Paramedic/Mr. Strunk/Alex/Nurse/Bartender, Phoebe Pryce (Cash Cow) as Female Paramedic/Mrs. Strunk/Maria/Doris, and Miles Molan in professional debut as Kenny/Jim.

Director Philip Wilson helms the production, which features set and costume design by Caitlin Abbott, sound design and compositions by Beth Duke, lighting design by Peter Harrison, and movement direction by Natasha Harrison.
Isherwood's original novel has previously received a film adaptation by Tom Ford; the author also penned the semi-autobiographical novella Goodbye to Berlin, which was adapted for the stage and eventually became Cabaret.
