Reviews are coming in for Ye Bear & Ye Cubb, which opened Off-Broadway December 13 in Theater C at 59E59 Theaters. Presented by No.11 Productions, previews began December 8 for a limited run through December 23.
Reimagining the first-known English-language play in North America, Ye Bear & Ye Cubb is based on historical court records. In a Virginia tavern in 1665, a troupe of amateur players, inspired by dreams and drinks, put on a show—sparked a court case.

Director Ryan Emmons (Kimberly Akimbo, Groundhog Day) leads the creative team comprised of scenic designer Seth Byrum, costume designers Julie Congress and Kathy Cote, lighting designer Ryan Hauenstein, movement director Victoria Rae Sook, and props and puppet designer Jen Neads. Enrico de Trizio serves as sound and music supervisor, with Steve Goodwin as composer. Miranda Sage Rhode is production stage manager, with Ryan Buchanan as assistant director and Haylee van Dalen as social media manager.
