As Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd prepares to head back to Broadway, the musical's original, Tony-winning title player, Len Cariou, will take part in a one-night-only staged reading of Richard Vetere's Zaglada.
Directed by Dan Wackerman, the reading will be held January 23 at Theatre at St. Clement’s. Show time is 7 PM.
Cariou will be joined on stage by Lou Martini, Jr., Maja Wampuszyc, and Jes Washington.
Zagłada follows a 90-year-old Polish man living in Maspeth, Queens, who is exposed by an African-American journalist as having been a Kapo in Buchenwald.
Casting is by Robin Carus.
Theatre at St. Clement’s is located at 423 West 46th Street. Admission is free of charge.
