The Illusionists – Live On Broadway, which played a hit run in 2014 at the Marquis Theatre, will return for a limited holiday engagement, beginning Nov. 19 at the Neil Simon Theatre.
Five of the show's seven conjurors appear on "America's Got Talent," which broadcasts 8-9 PM (EST) on NBC-TV (channel 4 in the New York area).
According to producers, The Illusionists features "mind-blowing magic, death-defying stunts and acts of breathtaking wonder."
The Illusionists will run through Jan. 3, 2016. Tickets for the Broadway engagement are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.
Last year, the show recouped its $1.75 million Broadway investment in just over three weeks of performances.
Jonathan Goodwin (The Daredevil), James More (The Deceptionist) and Raymond Crowe (The Unusualist) are set to join returning audience favorites Yu Ho-Jin (The Manipulator), Jeff Hobson (The Trickster), Dan Sperry (The Anti-Conjurer) and Adam Trent (The Futurist). Trent, Sperry, Crowe, More and Goodwin are scheduled to appear on the TV show.
The Broadway run is produced by Simon Painter, Tim Lawson, MagicSpace Entertainment, and Road Show Entertainment LLC.
The production is currently on a national tour.
Here's a breakdown of the performers:
The Unusualist, Raymond Crowe is a world-class magician, physical comedian, trained mime, ventriloquist, inventor, and master of intricate shadow puppetry. His unique spin on magic guarantees belly laughs and gasps of amazement to people of every age.
The Daredevil, Jonathan Goodwin is widely considered one of the most creative, skilled, and frankly crazy stunt performers in the world. He is an accomplished knife thrower, archer, escape artist, fakir, martial artist, free diver, and free climber. Unlike the other performers in the show, Jonathan is not a magician or illusionist but he will leave any audience breathless with his death-defying stunts.
The Trickster, Jeff Hobson is the epitome of glamour and showmanship. Don't be fooled by his innocent appearance; Jeff has audiences laughing long after the curtain goes down.
The Deceptionist, James More burst on to the scene on "Britain's Got Talent." His modern approach to magic involving fast-paced, high-risk illusions, combined with his good looks and charisma, have been witnessed by millions of people around the world.
The Anti-Conjuror, Dan Sperry is described as Marilyn Manson meets David Copperfield, Dan combines the art of magic with the macabre and is one of the top-10 most Googled people, thanks to a legendary "America's Got Talent" appearance.
The Futurist, Adam Trent, shatters stereotypes and brings a new generation of magic to fans fusing technology illusions, dancing and comedy with classic techniques.
The Manipulator, Yu Ho-Jin is considered a rising superstar in the world of magic; Yu Ho-Jin was named the 2014 "Magician of the Year," by Academy of Magical Arts and was the first Asian to win the Grand Prix at the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques, also known as the "Olympics of Magic."
