What the Constitution Means to Me has partnered with TodayTix to offer a limited number of tickets for the one-night-only reading at the Great Hall at Cooper Union benefitting the National Network of Abortion Funds. The tickets are priced at $40 for the benefit, set for June 9 at 8 PM.
Starring Heidi Schreck and the rest of the work's original Broadway cast, the evening will help support National Network of Abortion Funds' mission to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access.
The lottery is currently open, and will close at noon ET June 7. Winners will have 30 minutes to claim and pay for tickets through the app or the website.
Oliver Butler will direct the cast, comprising Schreck, Mike Iveson, Rosdely Ciprian, and Thursday Williams. Schreck’s play, which imagines how the Constitution will shape America's next generation, follows Schreck's teenage self as it explores the relationship between four generations of women affected by one of America's foundational documents.
The play opened Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop in 2018, and subsequently transferred to Broadway in 2019. Since its Broadway run, What the Constitution Means to Me has gone on a national tour, and a streaming version of Schreck's Broadway performance released on Amazon Prime.
