Next month, Wicked will move up the ranks of musical theatre history by becoming the fourth musical to run 20 years on Broadway, celebrating its 20th anniversary at the Gershwin October 30. The hit musical has announced special partnerships celebrating the milestone, and it's a swankified lineup of exclusive Wicked fashion, jewelry, afternoon tea experiences, and more.
The first partnership is with a fashion brand a real-life Glinda would wear day after day: Hill House Home. The brand, known for "nap dresses," worked closely with Tony-winning costume designer Susan Hilferty to create a Wicked-inspired nap dress collection. It will consist of two adult dresses and two children's dresses inspired by Glinda and Elphaba, and will be available for purchase online and in Hill House’s store at Rockefeller Center toward the end of the year.
Fans will also be able to get friendship bracelets to share with the Elphaba to their Glinda (or vice versa) from Little Words Project. The popular jewelry brand, known for beaded bracelets with words and phrases, will create four bracelets inspired by the friendship between the Oz witches. The collection will be featured in all nine Little Words retail stores across the United States.
Beginning October 23, fans can jot down a list of their favorite Elphabas and Glindas in a Wicked-inspired 20th anniversary notebook by Moleskine. The notebook will be available for purchase at the Gershwin, in Moleskine stores, and with several Moleskine wholesale partners.
Those with just one short day in the city should stop by the famed Plaza Hotel's Palm Court Restaurant for a Wicked-themed afternoon tea. Beginning October 6, the venue will be decked out in emerald green to commemorate the anniversary. The “Defying Gravi-tea” experience will feature a number of sweet and savory treats, including the “Look to the Brest’ern Sky” pate a choux and the “Flying Monkey” macaron.
Wicked's official credit card partner, Capital One, will offer cardholders pre-sale access to tickets for the anniversary performances on October 29 and 30, as well as exclusive access to events taking place at the Museum of Broadway during the anniversary weekend.
Wicked's Broadway cast currently features Alyssa Fox as Elphaba, McKenzie Kurtz as Glinda, John Dossett as The Wizard, Michele Pawk as Madame Morrible, Jordan Litz as Fiyero, Jake Pedersen as Boq, Kimber Elayne Sprawl as Nessarose, and William Youmans as Doctor Dillamond.
Wicked began previews on Broadway October 8, 2003, with an official opening October 30. The original cast included Tony winners Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth as, respectively, the green-faced, misunderstood Elphaba and the curly-locked Glinda. It is now the fourth-longest running production in Broadway history.

Wicked, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, is based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire.
The Joe Mantello-helmed production features musical staging by Wayne Cilento, scenic design by Eugene Lee, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Tony Meola, projections by Elaine J. McCarthy, wig and hair design by Tom Watson, music supervision and arrangements by Stephen Oremus, orchestrations by William David Brohn, and dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott. Casting is by the Telsey Office.
Wicked won 2004 Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical (Menzel), Best Costume Design (Hilferty), and Best Scenic Design (Lee).
The musical, which reopened on Broadway September 14, 2021, following the pandemic shutdown, is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt, and David Stone.
