On the evening of his 29th birthday, Abel reminisces about the painful memories of his family's past, the life and death of his late brother, David, and the writings of his late brother's secret lover, Jono. Abel searches through the past to find courage in the present, all while his faith hangs in the balance.

**Non-AEA Submissions Only**
RATE OF PAY:
Principals - $35 / rehearsal + $100 stipend
Standbys - $20 / rehearsal
SEEKING:
ABEL / STANDBY FOR ABEL: 25-35 years old, Hispanic, Male-Identifying. (Please note: The actor will portray the character at multiple stages of life.) Abel is a young, Bear type Latinx man wrestling with the revelation of his late brother’s hidden queer identity. Their relationship left Abel feeling confused and resentful about his relationship with faith, his queerness, and the notion he is not worthy of loving or being loved.
DAVID / STANDBY FOR DAVID: 25-35 years old, Hispanic, Male-Identifying. (Please note: The actor will portray the character at multiple stages of life.) David is a charming, fun-loving man who is in an internal war with his identity as a queer Goth, in a conservative latino family and uses his faith to weaponize and fuel his self hatred and loathing, never coming to terms with his gay feelings. He is vigilant to protect his brother from this secret and lead him towards a hetero-normative life path, which pushes them further apart.
JONO / STANDBY FOR JONO: 40-50 years old, Hispanic, Male-Identifying. (Please note: The actor will portray the character at multiple stages of life.) Jono is a suave intellectual and a proud gay man, steadfast in his truth and belief system until he meets the young and rebellious David, who makes him question everything.
