DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Fabricator
CLASSIFICATION: Non - Exempt / Hourly Employee
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR(s): Shop Foreperson, Production Manager
Department: Carpentry and Metal Fabrication
Standard Work Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Overtime available as projects dictate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret and work from drawings provided by Foreperson or Project/Production Mgmt
- Identify and measure required materials
- Demonstrate working knowledge of shop tools and basic safety protocol
- Cut and assemble units as per draftings and sketches
- Assist with layout of finished units
- Wrap and label finished units for pack and installation
- Understand scope of project as per designation of Lead and Foreman
- Maintain a safe and clean working space
- Problem solving while keeping the grand scheme of the project in mind
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Several years (at least 2) of working in professional environment
- Be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to handle scenery and materials up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work independently and complete projects on a deadline
- Strong knowledge of Wood Fabrication standards and techniques
- Strong knowledge of basic metal fabrication for theatrical purposes
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude
