Hadestown celebrated the official opening of its London premiere November 13 at the National Theatre. Following its U.K. bow, Anaïs Mitchell’s folk opera adaptation of the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice is expected to return to New York for a Broadway engagement.
The Rachel Chavkin-helmed production will run at the National's Olivier Theatre through January 26, 2019.
The cast includes Patrick Page, Amber Gray, and Reeve Carney as Hades, Persephone, and Orpheus, respectively; all three reprise performances from previous engagements of the musical. Joining them are Tony nominees Eva Noblezada and André De Shields as Eurydice and Hermes.
