Two-time Tony and Olivier Award winner Patti LuPone, currently back on Broadway in the gender-switched revival of Stephen Sondheim's Company, returns to the Vivian Beaumont Theater May 9 at 7:30 PM for Lincoln Center Theater's 2022 Gala.
The evening, entitled Songs From a Hat, features the Broadway favorite performing an intimate concert, with the song list randomly chosen from a hat. Attendees can expect signature songs and a few surprises. LuPone will be accompanied by music director Joseph Thalken.
The Gala, honoring LCT Board Chairman Eric M. Mindich, is co-chaired by Brooke Garber Neidich and Daniel Neidich and Laura Speyer and Josef Goodman.
LuPone is a two-time Tony winner for her performances in Evita and the 2008 revival of Gypsy; she won her first Olivier Award for her work in The Cradle Will Rock and Les Misérables, and her second for the 2019 London revival of Company. It was at the Beaumont where LuPone earned a Tony nomination for the 1987 revival of Anything Goes. She also married husband Matt Johnston on that stage and later returned there for her Matters of the Heart concerts.
Benefit tickets (starting at $2,500) and tables, which include a post-performance dinner at Lincoln Center, can be purchased by contacting Karin Schall at [email protected] or Dana Jones at [email protected]. A limited number of seats to the performance only, priced $75 and $150, are available at Telecharge.com and at LCT.org.
