Benefits and Galas Ezra Knight to Host The Acting Company's Annual Reimagined Renaissance Gala

Honoring Rainn Wilson and Dakin Matthews, the gala's performance line-up will also include Tony nominee Sara Bareilles.

The Acting Company has found its host for the upcoming annual Reimagined Renaissance Gala. Ezra Knight (Mean GirlsCoal Country) will oversee the evening at New York City's Capitale honoring Rainn Wilson (The Office, London Assurance) and Dakin Matthews (Camelot, Henry IV). Set for April 24, cocktails will begin at 6:30 PM with dinner, a silent auction, live performances, and dancing to follow.

Performing at the event will be two-time Tony nominee Sara Bareilles (WaitressInto the Woods) with additional appearances by Kelley Curran (The Gilded Age), Allen Gilmore (Objects in the Mirror), and Chelsea Williams (Death of a Salesman).

Emmy nominee Wilson will receive the Joan M. Warburg Award Honor in recognition of his philanthropy and leadership. The award is named for the longtime President of The Acting Company's Board of Directors. Wilson founded the educational initiative The Lidè Foundation which empowers women and girls in rural Haiti through the arts.

Meanwhile, Drama Desk winner Matthews will receive the John Houseman Award Honor. A founding artist of The Acting Company, Matthews is being awarded for his over five decades of work as an actor, playwright, translator, and dramaturg. He currently stars in the Broadway revival of Camelot as Merlyn and Pellenore. See him talk about the role in the cast's interviews with Playbill.

Timothy K. Saunders Jr. and Tejal P. Wadhwani co-chair the event. The Gala Committee includes J. Barclay Collins II, Peter H. Darrow, John N. Gilbert, Margot Harley, Dana Ivey, Jessie Kelly, Ezra Knight, Dakin Matthews, Angela Pierce, Richard Reilly, Louis Rodriguez, Jean-Luc Sinniger, Earl D. Weiner, and Lori-Ann Wynter.
