Aleshea Harris' On Sugarland begins previews at Off-Broadway's New York Theatre Workshop February 5 following delays to allow for additional technical rehearsals. The production, which was initially set to begin February 2, is headed for a February 23 opening night, with the limited engagement scheduled to continue though March 13.

The new play from the Is God Is and What to Send Up When It Comes Down playwright follows Sadie as she calls upon generations of matriarchal ancestors in search of truth about her own mother—on storied land that is now a southern cul-de-sac.
Obie winner Whitney White (Semblance, What to Send Up When It Goes Down) directs, leading a creative team that includes scenic designer Adam Rigg, costume designer Qween Jean, lighting designer Amith Chandrashaker, sound designer Mikaal Sulaiman, choreographer Raja Feather Kelly, and dramaturg Lauren Whitehead. Original music is by Starr Busby with hair and wig design by Earon Nealey and fight direction by UnkleDave's Fight-House. Alfredo Maxias serves as stage manager.
