Nico Juber's Millennials Are Killing Musicals, which recently completed a developmental run Off-Broadway with Grammy and Emmy winner Kristolyn Lloyd (1776, Dear Evan Hansen) leading the company, will receive an original cast album. Recording for the album begins this week for its fall release on Yellow Sound Label.
Featuring 15 songs from the show, the album will tell the story of Brenda, a single and struggling millennial mom who wants to be as good at "adulting" as other moms on social media and the seemingly perfect mom of her daughter's classmate. Just when she's ready to take on the challenge, Brenda's younger sister and social media influencer Katrina shows up on her doorstep eight months pregnant.
Joining Lloyd in the studio from the Off-Broadway run are Broadway alums Max Crumm (Grease) as Nate/Atlas, Jakeim Hart (Almost Famous) as Dylan, Tiffany Engen (Legally Blonde) as Jake’s Mom, and Sydni Beaudoin as Pacifica alongside Diana Huey (Honor) as Katrina, Sheri Sanders (Urinetown) as Nana Marie, and Jae W.B. (Luna & The Star Bodies) as Luna. Jessie Alagna (Emojiland) and Kathel Griffin (Here and Their) served as understudies. The band includes Britton Matthews on drums, Andrea Yohe on piano, Benjamin Samuelson on guitar, and Thomas E. Carley on bass.
