Tony-winning choreographer Justin Peck's new ballet Copland Dance Episodes makes its world premiere as part of New York City Ballet's season at Lincoln Center January 26. The new work, set to the music of Aaron Copland, will also be performed January 28 and 29, and February 3, 4, and 7.
Peck choreographed the Broadway revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel, ultimately winning the 2018 Tony Award for his choreography. He also recently choreographed Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-nominated film adaptation of West Side Story.
This new ballet is Peck's first-ever full-evening of original work for NYCB as stated previously by NYCB Associate Artistic Director Wendy Whelan, but his 23rd work for the company in total. It features set designs by renowned visual artist Jeffrey Gibson.
