Alex Edelman's new comedy show Just for Us completes its run at SoHo Playhouse April 30 after a one-week extension and a sold-out run at Cherry Lane Theatre in February.
Directed by Adam Brace, Just for Us is the stand-up comedian's third solo show and includes a number of stories from Edelman's life, such as tales about his brother AJ, an Olympian athlete; and having an unconventional holiday season. At the core of the show, however, is Edelman's personal experiences with anti-Semitic abuse, his decision to crash a New York City gathering of White Nationalists incognito, and what comes of that encounter.
A second encore engagement Off-Broadway has already been announced. The show will begin its run at Greenwich House Theater June 13.
The show originally premiered in 2018 at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, from where it has gone on to play London's Soho Theater and Edinburgh Fringe. Along the way, it has earned a Barry Award nomination and the Herald Angel Award.
