Out of the Box Theatrics will stage the first Off-Broadway revival of Floyd Collins, to run November 11–December 18 at Theatre 71. Opening night is set for November 28. Casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

Christina Sajous, usually seen performing on the stage in such shows as SpongeBob SquarePantsSpider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, and American Idiot, will helm the musical, which features music and lyrics by Adam Guettel and a book by Tina Landau

Based on a real-life incident, Floyd Collins tells the story of an early 20th century amateur cave explorer who finds himself stuck in a Kentucky cave and the resulting media frenzy surrounding the efforts to rescue him. Sajous' production will focus on the media frenzy, which is often thought of as America's first true media circus.

The musical had its world premiere in 1994 at American Music Theater Festival in Philadelphia before running Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in 1996.

Sajous' creative team will include associate director and choreographer Billy Bustamante, music director Adam Rothenberg, scenic designer Ant Ma, costume designer Brynne Oster-Bainnson, lighting designer Christopher Wong, and sound designer Germán Martínez. Tyler Danhaus is stage manager, and Egypt Dixon is assistant stage manager.
