Audible droped four new audio plays June 8, including two Off-Broadway shows, one Broadway premiere, and a new direct-to-audio play.

Three-time Obie winner Andre Royo played over a dozen characters in Eric Bogosian's Drinking in America, all of which are intoxicated to varying degrees. Presented this past February, the work is a comic exploration of the modern American male psyche, toxic masculinity, and male fragility. Nostalgia: A Love Letter to NYC was written and performed by Noblezada (Miss SaigonHadestownthis past January as a celebration of New York City with new music and personal reflections from the two-time Tony nominee. Another solo work, Gabriel Byrne's Walking with Ghosts, premiered on Broadway last fall as a stage adaptation of Byrne's memoir about growing up in a working class family in Ireland and the pressures of fame.

Also scheduled for release is a direct-to-audio play titled The 126-Year-Old Artist by C. Quintana. The new work follows a young, queer, Latiné curator who discovers an artist’s work at a flea market, sparking an obsession to make them both famous. Julissa Calderon, Sagan Chen, Zuleyma Guevara, Elise Santora, and Rita Wolf star in the commissioned audio play from the Audible Emerging Playwright Fund. Estefanía Fadul directs.

Kate Navin, Head of Audible Theater, said in a statement, “Our June audio slate brings an array of intimate, one-person shows direct from New York stages to your ears. From fiction to music to memoir, the performances by Andre Royo, Eva Noblezada, and Gabriel Byrne brilliantly showcase how one voice can unleash countless ideas and possibilities. Rounding out the slate is C. Quintana’s new commission from our Audible Emerging Playwright Fund, a captivating audio play that spotlights Latiné and queer communities. These audio releases are a celebration of diverse storytelling, and we’re excited to share them with listeners everywhere.”
